It's beginning to look a lot like a Crafty Christmas.

Well Ladies and Gentlemen,

It's that time of year again, John Lewis have made another tear jerker of an advert, there's talk of who's going to be number 1 in the charts, and your already planning who your nan is going to sit next to at dinner, so why not take a little time out and join us...

It's Bread & Buttons Christmas Craft Social!

This year we've got lots planned, we will be making hand printed wrapping paper, greeting cards, salt dough decorations (and felt ones too), we are also planning on making hand painted decorative tea light holders, so keep all of your jam jars!

We can't help but get a little excited about the prospect of settling down with a tipple in the Rummer Tavern and getting stuck in with all things handmade. Let's face it, we are all a little strapped for cash this year so why spend a fortune on 'run of the mill' when you can make your own unique gifts.

We hope you can join us on Thursday 8th of December for gin*, giggles & glitter.

Lots of love B&B x

Fond Memories and Farewells

Well, Saturday has been and gone, cakes were baked and decorated, stamps made and our 1940's record collection dug out from our cupboard.
We had a real hoot at the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, and thoroughly enjoyed the party with music from the super talented Jemma Kyrsa and the ever entertaining Barrie Hole amongst others.
We made lots of lovely postcards, swapped memories, chatted about Canaletto and hamsters, about exploding pomegranates and bara brith. Thank you to all of you lovely people who came along and shared their happy memories with us.

Most of all, thank you Glynn Vivian for all the fantastic art you have given us and that has inspired us. We can't wait to say a big hello to the new you when you re-open!

bread & buttons (hearts) Glynn Vivian Art Gallery

Well, well, well. It’s been a busy summer for myself and Kathryn and we have neglected things here at B&B a little…
….but we have exciting news! Bread & Buttons are taking part in the wonderful, the fantastic, the incredible Glynn Vivian Art Gallery Closing Party!
We are sad to see it close, but worry not, it’s only for a couple of years while the ol’ GV gets a shiny new facelift. In the meantime the team there are planning loads of exciting off site projects, lectures and education programs.
So let’s send them off in style!
We will be there making postcards with fond farewells and happy memories from all of you, we will be making commemorative bunting and bookmarks to boot!
There are activities planned for the whole day including family workshops and music from Last Tuesday SocietyJemma Krysa, from The Gentle Sea, Barrie Hole and loads more!
It’s guaranteed to be a fun, if not a little emotional day for all, So pop in, have a chat, a cuppa and a slice of homemade cake.
Lots of love

Party, Party, Party....and cake

Finally a chance to have a good ol' party!

It’s been a busy few months here, but we can finally announce that Bread and Butons will be having our very own launch party! We thought it was about time to make things official and what better way to do that than have a little party.

We will be holding it on the 30th of June 2011 in the lovely Rummer Tavern on Duke Street and we can’t wait.

Bring a cake, share your recipies, have a drink and meet some lovely people. We will also be picking your brains and will be asking you all what you hope to get out of the group.

So if you want to find out what it is we get up to, pop in and help us celebrate!

looking forward to seeing you,
bread and buttons. xx
